Turning Photos into a Video

We were using our edited photos to make a video in or Cybermart lesson. We have already used the photos to make a collage in Explain Everything so now we used the same photos again.

This time we used iMovie on our iPads. It was really quick to import our photos and then record our voice as well.

Have you ever made a video? What was your video about?

Here is Nehoa's video. Can you hear his clear voice? Ka pai Nehoa!

Here is Leitu's video. She made 2 recordings in her video. Her voice is clear as well. Ka pai!

Creating a Photo Collage

Today we used our edited photos from last week and made a collage with them.

We made a new Explain Everything project but just had one page in the project. We renamed our project before working on it.

Because we had saved our photos to our Drive we could import them into Explain Everything.

We placed our photos on the page and made a colourful background for them. Then we had to save our work as an image into our Drive.

Phew! What a lot of steps! But we did it!

Here are some of our collages. Do you like the coloured backgrounds?

Creating Original Media

Today in our Cybersmart lesson we were learning about creating original media. That means that if we create it, we own it and we can share it and use it wherever we want to.

We took a selfie using the camera app on our iPad and we edited it using the tools on our iPad. We had to duplicate our photo so our original one stays the same. On our duplicates we used the filters and found the "Noir" filter to make a black and white version. Then we found the Markup tool and used the Magnifier to make our eyes larger. This was a lot of fun.

We had to upload our photos from our iPad to our Drive as well. We are getting really good at doing this.

Maths Quiz

Do you like Maths? Room 6 loves Maths! Today we made a maths quiz in Scratch Jnr.

We had to think of a maths equation then create 2 incorrect answers and one correct answer. We had to code it so the player would know if they had chosen the right answer. We had to also think of a kind way to tell the player that they had chosen the incorrect answer.

Scratch Jnr is an app on our iPads and you can download the app for free and use it on android tablets as well. You can use Scratch Jnr to program your own interactive stories and games. When we are doing this we are learning to solve problems, design projects, and be creative by using our computational thinking.

Here is Marley's work. This is a screen recording so it is not interactive but it shows how the quiz works.

Here is Jethro's work.
